Carvoeiro is a popular typical fishermen’s village that used to be known for its tuna catches. The town beach, Praia do Carvoeiro, is a beautifully sheltered sandy bay with cliffs and caves on both sides that can be visited by small boats. The village is built around the lively town square with great restaurants and bars overlooking the ocean. Not far from the main beach are many picturesque beaches such as Praia do Paraiso, and Praia de Benagil. Also home to the Gramacho and Pinta golf courses.
